Every Craig coaching programme is individually designed to meet your own exercise and nutritional needs and goals and delivered through "virtual" coaching and "in-person" instruction.
Education is a central component of the Craig Coaching philosophy. Our ultimate goal is for you to gain self-empowerment with respect to the lifestyle choices that you face. Whether this is simply being able to choose the best sports drink for daily swimming sessions, to select a lunch that prevents the afternoon energy dips or for a person with Irritable Bowel Syndrome to improve their digestive function; knowledge is a wonderful thing.
Craig Coaching delivers regular educational events at venues throughout Cape Town and in the UK. They are led by Ian Craig, an international presenter and University lecturer. Audiences may include general population, athletes & coaches, students, practitioners and corporations.

Functional Sports Nutrition (FSN) is a new area within education that effectively combines the knowledge of two very different fields of nutrition within a sporting model: the practical, quantitative and food-based Sports Nutrition and the integrative, qualitative and body-systems approach of Nutritional Therapy . FSN recognises the bio-individual needs of each athlete and the connectivity of all body systems, meaning that to reach peak performance, whole-body health is required.

The International Society of Sports Nutrition is a non-profit academic society dedicated to promoting the science and application of evidence-based sports nutrition and supplementation. They hold an annual international conference in America and provide an exam-based certification that is recognised by the leaders of applied exercise nutrition.

Nutritional Therapy considers an individual’s ‘whole health’ with assessment of parameters such as: digestive & immune health, blood sugar regulation, hormone balance, brain chemical sufficiency and of course dietary intake. It is a growing discipline in Britain and South Africa and there are opportunities in both countries to study towards a BSc in Nutritional Therapy.
